Evaluation System of International Student Scholarship of Hubei University of Technology is an excerpt from Regulation on Evaluation and Management of International Student Scholarship of Hubei University of Technology.


Fundamental Requirements:

1. Abide by China's laws and regulations, social morality and order.

2. Devoted to study with good GPA, pioneering.

3. Enthusiastic in activities, physically and mentally sound.

4. Frank and honest, having not owed tuition and other fees.

5. Abide by HBUT regulations, having not been punished, unless the punishment is due at the time of evaluation.


Information about Assessment

1. Bachelor and Master students will be assessed separately

2. English delivery and Chinese delivery students will be assessed separately.

3. Only Bachelor and Master students who came to HBUT for more 2 semesters are eligible.

4. Materials validity is within the prescribed academic year (for example, for the scholarship of Academic Year 2017 to 2018, the materials should be obtained from September 2017 to September 2018).

5. This evaluation is done by Scholarship Assessment Commitee. Students could bring related supportive materials to help you add more points.

6. The result will be made known to the public for 5 work days. Students who hold skeptical views about the result can consult with International Student Center.

7. There are two types of scholarship to be assessed at the same time, which are Excellent International Student Scholarship (EISS), Individual Award.

Evaluation System

Article 1 Points are calculated based on a full academic year’s performance. If the students’ overall points are the same, the sequence will be determined by GPA, when GPA is the same, the sequence will be determined by Attendance

Article 2 Violation of school regulations or having not finished academic requirements will lead to the deduction of Points, marked as J.

Article 3 Moral, Academic Performance, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Quality, Humanities and Social Management Quality, Sports Activities will be separately counted as G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, with the final score as G


G=G1×15%+G2×50%+G3×15%+G4×15%+G5×5%-J


Article 4 Points acquired from collective activities will be firstly doubled and then divided by the number of participants. When participants are more than 6, the number will be set as 6.

Article 5 The Sportive Materials date to September 1st.

I. Moral (G1)

It is to evaluate whether or not the student knows about China, is friendly to China and Chinese people, bears gratitude to HBUT, enthusiastic to volunteering work.

  2. For the competition with the original award of Special, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Awards, the first three will be counted as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, with the original 3rd award counted as 60% of the 3rd award.

    3. Some individual event prize (i.e. Best Performance etc.) will be counted as 2nd award, if it comes with the word Shortlisted (入围), Consolation (鼓励), Outstanding (优秀), it will be counted as the 60% of 3rd award.

Article 7 Points Deduction Rules:

1. For the attendance below 90%, inflict 2 points deduction.

2. For the violations of university regulations and rules, each violation will inflict 1 - 5 points deduction(depends on the violations).

3. Failing semester assessment will inflict 1 point deduction for each subject.

4. For the students whose deductions are above their total point’s income, their final G will be counted as 0.


Scholarship Issue and Management

Article 8 The issue of scholarship should be done by School of International Education and Finance Department collaboratively. The scholarship will be firstly used to pay for the tuition fees and other expenses of the student.

Article 9 If the scholarship nominees conduct the behaviors below, he will be disqualified and the scholarship should be taken back:

1. Spread unfriendly or hate thoughts or behaviors towards China
2. Participating in illegal organizations, activities, gathering, missionary work and so on.
3. Violating school regulations and rules or failing to finish teaching activities.
4. Violating the law or regulations of China.

Article 10 It would be seen as giving up the nomination of scholarship for students failing to register on time.
